GOOD NEWS !!!
![]() Answer: Your question, Why did Jesus have to die is a question asked by many and the answer is a complicated one. Let me try and help you... First we must realize that Jesus didn't HAVE to die, He CHOSE to die. But why? To find the true answer we must look to the beginning and to the Old Testament. I will try to be as brief as possible. In the beginning there was NO sin. Adam, our first father and Eve our first mother, brought sin into the world by disobeying God by eating of the fruit from the only tree that was off limits in the garden of Eden. Remember that our God knows all and sees all and had a plan for when this happened. He developed a system of sacrifices that would point to the time when Christ would come into the world. The system had those who sinned to take the best of what they had and give it up to God in repentence and sacrifice. They were to kill the best of their livestock or burn the best of there crops to let God know that they were sorry for their sins. This would carry on for many hundreds of years until the fulness of time when God would send Christ, God in the flesh to die ONCE, for all men and women so that no more sacrifices needed to be made. Even though the sacrifices of goats and bulls or lambs didn't truely take away sin, this system POINTED to when God would make a final step towards saving all mankind. His own death, the perfect sacrifice for sin. Remember when God had all the Isrealites look up to the serpent on the pole for healing? Well, All people are to look up to Jesus Christ on the cross for healing and forgiveness of their sins. Jesus died because He and He alone was the only sacrifice for sin because only He is the only person who ever lived that was without sin. So He died once for all. Now, everyone that calls on the name above all names, Jesus, can be saved by Him. Everyone in the past, everyone now and everyone in the future. Praise God for His mercy on us and His Grace for us. At the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord! Amen. Hope this helps a little... In Him, Deacon Neal Gracey, FBC Saltillo, PA ![]()
